Beards in ASHEVILLE, NC – July 15th!!!

NO ONE likes ‘Beards’ more than hippies…right, Asheville?! The Beards of Comedy will be performing LIVE as part of the 4th Annual “Laugh Your Asheville Off” Comedy Festival. Last year, all the Beards were accepted to LYAO as individual performers. This year, as a testament to LYAO being one of the country’s FINEST Comedy Festivals and having keen eye for talent…they have chosen to showcase the one-of-a-kind “Beards of Comedy” Tour show in ALL it’s glory for a ONE NIGHT ONLY engagement! No other show/tour was given this distinctive honor and the Beards are thrilled to be a part of this incredible line-up of comedians.

1st Annual Laughing Skull Comedy Festival

The Beards on stage after the Laughing Skull Festival Finals (3/6/10)

All four Beards of Comedy were invited to be a part of the 1st Annual Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in midtown Atlanta last weekend, March 3-7. This is a significant accomplishment as this festival was jam-packed with 60 of the best professional and up-and-coming professional comedians from around the US and Canada. Over 600 comedians submitted for this festival. So, for all four of the Beards to be chosen in the top 10 percentile is quite a compliment.

Both Andy Sandford and Dave Stone had great performances which propelled them past the first round of competition into the semi-finals on Saturday night. Joe Zimmerman and TJ Young also performed well and garnered attention from top industry professionals in attendance. Comedy as a competition is a bit of a strange prospect…so many factors involved. Some of the most accomplished contestants, with solid credits from Comedy Central and winners of some of the other great festivals from around the country, were unable to advance past the first round. So, it was truly an honor and a blast for all the Beards to not only be included in the same category with such great talent, but to have competed so well along side them all.

Josh Gondelman WINS!!!

The Beards would like to congratulate their good friend, Boston comedian Josh Gondelman on a fantastic showing and a well-deserved festival win. Easily the nicest guy at the festival and obviously an incredible performer. Great Job, Josh!

This festival was another example of the great comedy scene that Atlanta boasts and the wonderful reputation that brings so many great nationally touring acts to Atlanta on a regular basis.

The Beards of Comedy will be headlining the Laughing Skull Lounge again the weekend of May 22-25, 2010
